Opening Doors to Housing
BUILDING A WORLD WHERE EVERY FAMILY HAS STABLE HOUSING
Central Virginia Housing is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. We work to improve the regional quality of life by providing affordable housing opportunities to families through coalition, education, and counseling. Our organization began with an all-volunteer staff and one program. Today, Central Virginia Housing is fully staffed and is focused on providing affordable housing in the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Caroline, and King George.
At Central Virginia Housing, our goal is to connect our community with information and resources to best serve their housing needs. Nobody plans on losing their housing and facing homelessness. However, the average American is only one paycheck away from becoming homeless. For families living paycheck to paycheck, one unexpected expense can jeopardize housing.
WE EQUIP WITH CONFIDENCE
We work with families and individuals to try and prevent them from losing their housing when crisis strikes. We equip those who walk through our doors with the information and tools necessary for them to be successful renters or homeowners through education, counseling, community collaboration and case management.
We Equip for Success Through Counseling and Education
If you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.
At Central Virginia Housing, we want you to have the tools, knowledge, and determination to live a secure and stable life. Through our Counseling and Education programs, you can work with our staff to equip yourself with the information you need to achieve your housing goals confidently!
Our housing counselor teaches Homeownership Education and Financial Literacy classes each month. You can also schedule one on one appointments to go over personal information, set goals, and create plans for follow through. We want to help you meet your housing needs, and achieve your dreams!
At Central Virginia Housing, community is built of hard working clients, dedicated partner agencies, generous donors, staff and volunteers. Each and every story that you share strengthens our community and offers a glimpse as the work that is done here. Whether you are a client, a donor or a volunteer; if you have an experience you’d like to share on our website, we would love to hear from you!
We’re first time homebuyers and we saw that Central Virginia Housing offered a first time home buyers class. Because of how involved and informational or Central Virginia Housing counselor was, we were able to clear up our credit and boost our credit rating to reduce our interest rate.
