About the Central Virginia Housing
Central Virginia Housing is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Our organization began in 1988 with an all-volunteer staff and one program. Today, Central Virginia Housing is fully staffed and offers many programs geared towards providing affordable housing services in the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Caroline, Fauquier and King George.
Our Mission
Central Virginia Housing improves the regional quality of life by providing affordable housing opportunities through coalition, education counseling and financial assistance.
How We Can Help You
We work with families and individuals to try and prevent them from losing their housing when crisis strikes. We equip those who walk through our doors with the information and tools necessary for them to be successful renters or homeowners through counseling & education, community collaboration and case management.
HUD Certified Housing Counseling
Central Virginia Housing offers counseling and workshops designed to safeguard homeownership and prevent homelessness in underserved communities.
Our programs educate and empower individuals and families seeking to expand their housing options. Our counselor is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and provides information and access to affordable housing in the counties that we serve in District 16.
Our Rental Properties
At Central Virginia Housing, we are committed to renting our properties at below-market rates to interested tenants in our community. We are proud to offer quality housing options in Fredericksburg, a city that is constantly getting positive reviews from the surrounding community for its rich history, homey feel and growing urban atmosphere.
Our properties include 1, 2 & 3-bedroom apartments and 2 and 3 bedroom homes located in the City of Fredericksburg and County of Spotsylvania.
Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Housing Choice Voucher Program is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to decent, safe, and affordable housing in the private market.
Housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, and allows you to find housing (single-family homes, townhouses, mobile homes, and apartments) that that fits your needs.
