Homebuyers Club
GoForHome! is a series of 16 workshops that help prepare families for the responsibilities of homeownership. CVHC workshops cover topics such as credit repair, stable employment, education, basic financial management, loans and lending programs, local housing markets, basic home repair and maintenance, avoiding predatory lenders, taxes - tips and strategies, and many, many more. Our families graduate with the knowledge and encouragement to continue on their path to homeownership through our SPARC program or a private lender.
The program has two components:
- Monthly Workshops
- All club members will meet as a group once a month. A professional from the housing industry will join us to discuss a housing topic and dinner will be provided.
- Plan of Action
- In addition to our monthly workshop you will meet with a counselor once a month to identify personal obstacles to homeownership and develop a personal plan of action to reach your housing goal. Obstacles differ from individual to individual. These sessions will give you the opportunity to discuss your personal goals and receive one on one attention to help you reach your goal of homeownership. As you reach milestones as a club member you will be recognized and congratulated by our club. Our club members are eligible to win gift certificates and other prizes at the monthly meetings.
